Marko Marković

Marko Marković (1983) is a Croatian visual artist and performance artist. He graduated in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Split, obtained a teaching degree from the University of Zadar, and earned a Master’s degree in Art and Science from the University of Applied Arts Vienna.

His artistic practice encompasses performance, drawing, photography, video, film, sculpture, installation, and music. Through his work, he explores power relations, political systems, and social taboos, using his own body as a medium for artistic expression and critical reflection on contemporary society.

Marković is the recipient of the Radoslav Putar Award for Best Young Croatian Artist (2011). He was the founder and organizer of the DOPUST – Days of Open Performance Festival and served as a programme coordinator for Rijeka 2020 – European Capital of Culture. His work has been presented at numerous international exhibitions, festivals, and biennials throughout Europe and worldwide. He currently lives and works in Vienna.
