Marko Frančešević
Marko Frančešević was born on 18 January 1992. He graduated from the School of Applied Arts in Sarajevo and earned his Master’s degree in Sculpture from the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Sarajevo, in 2016, studying under Professor Mirsad Šehić.
Upon completing his education, he worked at the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, the School of Applied Arts in Sarajevo, and the National Theatre Sarajevo.
Through his artistic practice, Frančešević focuses on contemporary sculpture, developing an artistic language closely related to the aesthetics of modern American Pop Art.
He has been a member of the Association of Visual Artists of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ULUBiH) since 2016 and has regularly participated in its annual exhibitions.
He has held four solo exhibitions: at the Zvono Gallery (2021), the Historical Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina (2020), Brodac Gallery (2018), and the Collegium Artisticum Gallery (2021). He has participated in numerous sculpture colonies and symposiums across Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region, as well as in many group exhibitions. Frančešević has also been involved in various restoration projects and received the “Roman Petrović” Award for Outstanding Artistic Achievement in 2019.
He currently lives and works in Sarajevo, where he is actively engaged in sculptural practice.
