Kasja Jerlagić

Kasja Jerlagić is a multidisciplinary artist from Sarajevo. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts Sarajevo, Department of Printmaking; she worked in several local galleries, founded and led the art-activist collective ODRON (2018-2022), organizing events at the intersection of art, culture and politics. During the pandemic she started doing textile art and embroiders, weaves and punch-needles tapestries of various sizes. Her artistic expression is eclectic, but the main throughline is the desire for political action, articulating emotional truths and questioning our place in a system that is hostile to humanity. In her free time, she ignores the boundaries between activism and art. She likes to consider herself a propagandist of a utopia that doesn’t exist yet.
