Dženat Dreković

Dženat Dreković (1979) is one of the most prominent contemporary photographers and photojournalists in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Born in North Macedonia, he is professionally based in Sarajevo and actively engaged in the regional photography scene. He is a long-time photographer for the Center for Investigative Reporting (CIN), co-founder of the Sarajevo Center for Photography, Film and Multimedia (CFFM), founder of Sarajevo’s Foto Galerija Jelićeva, and a board member of the Association of BH Photographers.

His work is particularly recognized in the fields of documentary and investigative photography, focusing on social, environmental, and humanitarian issues. He received the Eco Journalist Award for Best Photography in 2022 and 2023. Dreković has collaborated with acclaimed filmmaker Jasmila Žbanić, worked extensively as a theatre photographer and photography educator, and participated in numerous artistic and documentary projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad.
